FAQ
How long does bridal hair and makeup process last? And separately?
I have been working as a makeup artist and hairstylist for weddings for 10 years, gaining experience in handling tight timelines. The process of creating bridal makeup and hair typically takes 2 to 3 hours. The duration depends on factors such as the length of the hair, the use of extensions, the complexity of the hairstyle or makeup, and more. If focusing solely on hair or makeup, the session may take about 1 to 1.5 hours.
How long do guest makeup and hair last? Guest hair alone? Guest makeup alone?
Makeup and hair services are equally significant to me. However, unlike the bridal look, makeup and hair for guests may involve fewer steps. Therefore, the preparation typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. For just hair or makeup alone, the process usually takes 40 to 60 minutes.
How many assistants will accompany Julia?
I have a highly skilled team consisting of two individuals who specialize in both hair and makeup services. The availability of the team members and the number of guests determine whether both of them will be present or just one during the appointment.
Can the bride be in a different location than some guests?
The guests should be at least at the same hotel with the bride. Sometimes different location can be discussed with Julia.
How early do you and your team start your services?
I begin my services at 7 am, while my team members are available at any time, depending on their availability.
Do you have experience with Asian brides and makeup?
Certainly. Over the past few years of working as a makeup artist in Santorini, I have had the privilege of preparing many Asian brides. I understand that makeup preferences vary based on the bride's country and origin. I am open to hearing your suggestions to ensure you feel comfortable and look your best. You can view some of my work with Asian brides in the Instagram highlights section labeled "Asian brides."
Do you have experience with dark skin makeup?
I have experience working with women with dark skin tones. While I have honed my skills in this area, I acknowledge that there are specific techniques and nuances that I may not be familiar with. If you appreciate my style and trust me, together we can collaborate to create the perfect look for you.
Where can I find Julia’s team’s work?
In the Instagram highlights section labeled "My team’s work" and “Bridesmaids”.
Does the booking process require a deposit? Is it excluded from the total amount of services?
Certainly. To secure your date, it is essential to make a deposit, which will be deducted from the total cost of services. My assistant will provide you with a comprehensive contract outlining all payment details.
Do you offer grooms hairstyling and makeup?
I prioritize delivering all services with precision and professionalism. While I do not have formal training as a barber and lack the necessary expertise in this area, I highly recommend that your groom schedules an appointment at a barbershop in Santorini for the best results.
Do you offer cuts for hair?
No, I specialize as a hairstylist and not a hairdresser. However, one of my team members is a professional hairdresser. You can request us to arrange an appointment for a haircut, hair colouring, or any treatment.
Is the false eyelash included in the bridal services?
Certainly. We always incorporate false eyelashes in our makeup services, not only for bridal makeup but also for guests. I believe that false eyelashes enhance the overall look and are essential for photography.
Do you provide hair extensions?
I do not offer hair extensions services as I do not have a hair salon. I advise brides to coordinate with their hairdressers at home to obtain the appropriate hair extensions and have them adjusted if needed.
Do you work with hair extensions that are already put in? Or with clip in extensions?
Certainly. There is nothing that can hinder me from achieving the desired result.
Does Julia offer consultation after the booking?
Of course. Once you have booked your date, feel free to reach out to me to discuss your hair and makeup ideas, especially if you already have your dress. I prefer to have this conversation on WhatsApp, where we can exchange photos and have all the necessary information documented.
Can I book a trial first and if I’m satisfied, then proceed to book the wedding date?
Certainly, you can inquire about booking your date after having a trial. However, please note that Santorini is a highly popular wedding destination, and I start bookings at least a year in advance. So there is a possibility that your desired date may not be available after we have a trial. But you can secure both dates(trial and wedding). And if you were not satisfied with the result of a trial we can release your date. However the deposit is not refundable.
Can I book a trial a year before my wedding date?
Yes, you can. But it is recommended to book the wedding date as well. Because it might not be available by the date of the trial.
Can I book a trial two years before my wedding date?
I do not recommend scheduling a trial two years before the wedding, as preferences and styles can evolve over time, especially for women. Additionally, my techniques and style are developing annually. Therefore, two years is a significant period to finalize your decision on the makeup and hair artist you wish to have on your special day. If you simply wish to get to know me as a person and determine if you feel comfortable with me, you can arrange a photoshoot and hire my services for it.
Can I inquiry a booking just for the bridal party?
Of course you can. My team may be booked for guest services, if there is availability.
How many guests can you and your team take on the day of the wedding?
The number of services provided depends primarily on the time available for preparations and the availability of both my team and myself.
What is the minimum amount of guests that I can book with Julia’s assistant?
The minimum number of guests you can book for my team is 2 guests for hair & makeup services, or a total of 4 services.
How do you prefer the hair to be before preparations? Wet? Dry?
It is crucial that everyone has freshly washed and completely dry hair before receiving our services. Hair should be washed the night before or on the morning of the appointment using shampoo twice and conditioner on the ends of the hair.
